Ames Community Arts Council exists to enhance and promote the Arts in Ames through education, outreach, and publicity: to provide coordination among arts organizations; and to encourage involvement by Ames citizens, Ames City Government, Ames Chamber of Commerce, and the Iowa State University Community.

ACAC is working with local organizations to develop a centralized ticket office for community events. All organizations would have the opportunity to sell their tickets from one location. A community box office will make distributing and acquiring event tickets trouble-free. In the future, ACAC would like to make tickets available online.

ACAC is open Monday - Friday 9am-2pm and has many programs established to enhance and promote the arts. These programs include:

- Co-sponsors monthly Arts at Lunch program

- Recognizes excellence in the arts with Arts Awards

|
|
- Maintain www.amesart.org to provide arts information
