The Ames Bulletin Board is published quarterly and distributed in March, June, September, and December. It is distributed free in the Ames area by all the Ames Bulletin Board advertisers, which include all Ames hotels/motels, many restaurants, real estate and insurance firms, specialty shops, banks, Ames Chamber of Commerce, Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau, ISU Welcome Center, ISU Memorial Union, Reiman Gardens, Ames City Hall, Ames Public Library, and the Main Street Cultural District office.
