Benefits of Membership
Business and organization members within the District benefit with consistent promotion, professional management and a strong network of like-minded people dedicated to developing a lively Ames destination place in the Main Street Cultural District.
Individual and family members benefit with special events, personal invitations, newsletters and discounts at participating businesses in the Main Street Cultural District.
In-District Members
- Staff support to coordinate events and programming as well as strengthen awareness of MSCD
- Annual resource guide which includes a guide of in-district members, gift certificate and Repeat Rewards information, City of Ames information, guidelines for downtown businesses, parking, and relevant contact information.
- Opportunity to participate in all MSCD events and on planning committees
- Invitations to monthly membership meetings, a large meeting to discuss all significant MSCD topics and an opproutnity to share about your business, helpd the first Tuesday of the month at Youth & Shelter Services.
- Invitations to Coffee Club, an informal meeting to discuss issues, ideas and upcoming events, held the third Tuesday of the month at Chocolaterie Stam
- MSCD monthly e-newsletter with news, stories, coupons and event information
- Opportunity to submit a free full-cover advertisment and events for the monthly e-newsletter which is distributed to over 300 members and over 2000 customers
- A splash page for your business including location, contact, description, pictures, and web link
- Your business listing publised when opproutnities allow, including a tourist brochure & map
- Ability to accept MSCD gift certificates
- Marketing campaign listing members as often as possibly including print, radio and bus boards.
- Opportunities to advertise cooperatively with the MSCD
- Opportunity to participate in Repeat Rewards, a program which gives point for every dollar spent and then sends out gift certificates accordingly.

* Businesses not interested in event participation that would like to support the district may join as Affiliate Members (AI) for $200 less than the above membership dues (Affiliate members may participate in events for a fee.)
